Winterstarr is our “pretty boy”. He just keeps getting more handsome as he continues to mature. His wonderful sweet nature allowed him to remain a young stallion until he became a yearling and became too interested in “the girls next door”. After he jumped a 5ft. fence (with nary a scratch) in an attempt to go visiting…he was altered the next week. We’re happy to report that there have been no more episodes of an unauthorized leave of absence. It hard on the heart to wake up and look out the window to see your prize young colt standing in the neighbors pasture. He is still handled daily; he leads gently, bathes, and tolerates the farrier every six weeks with acceptable good grace. He trailer loads although he still prefers to travel with a friend. He is learning about the covered arena…no lounging yet…but turned loose for free play so that he learns about the different noises, sights and understands that it’s a friendly place…not scary. That is where we are seeing some serious changes as he continues to learn to use his body. He is showing us three excellent gaits, good suspension at the trot with a huge overstep and a large rhythmic canter. Video or CD...call 940-372-0314.
